The planning manager at the National Road Safety Authority has urged road users to be responsible for their actions on the road

The planning manager at the National Road Safety Authority has urged road users to be responsible.

Speaking on the Orange Sunrise with Alfa Ali, Mr Samuel Gyimah emphasised that, to avoid road accidents, pedestrians must not cross anywhere, must remain highly alert and must refrain from crossing at junctions.

“You do not board, alight or cross at a junction”, he stressed.

He also highlighted some other safety regulations to be ensured by road users while entreating citizens to wear clothes that make them visible when using the road at night.

Mr Samuel Gyimah also called for law enforcement to ensure that rules surrounding zebra crossings and appropriate parking spaces are upheld

This forms part of broader efforts by 3 Media Networks to improve road safety awareness and reduce road accidents nationwide

3Media Networks launched its Drive Safe Campaign on Friday, August 14 2026. This month-long road safety awareness initiative is a call for collective action aimed at educating drivers, passengers, pedestrians, motorcyclists and other road users on the importance of responsible road use and strict compliance with road safety protocols.
The campaign comes at a time when road safety remains a major national concern.

This comes after recent increase in road accidents in the Ashanti Region, the Greater Accra Region and other parts of the country
