Ghanaian dancehall icon Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., popularly known as Shatta Wale, has taken legal action against social media influencer Priscilla Kyeremaa, popularly known as Prisywan, following her remarks about Shatta Wale in a Tiktok video.

Lawyers of Shatta Wale, Porta legis Consultancy, charged Prisywan of making false and broken statement about Shatta Wale in a letter outdated September 10, 2026.

The said video was published on her Tiktok page, “prisywan”, on August 29, 2026. The video surfaced a day after Shatta Wale spoke with broadcaster Serwaa Amihere in an interview on August 28.

Priscywan’s remarks appeared to address issues and discussions that emerged from the interview.

In the video, Prisywan told Shatta Wale that he needs to take his mental health seriously and prioritize it, and she also described him as a “confused artiste.”

The lawyers argue that when those comments are taken in their ordinary meaning and in the context in which they were made, they suggest to viewers that Shatta Wale suffers from a mental health problem that requires serious medical attention.

They contend that the label “confused artiste” coupled with the mental health claims is false, harmful and reckless, and is capable of creating a critical and hurtful impression of him, damaging his reputation, dignity and career as a top artiste.

They also note that the video was widely circulated by bloggers beyond her immediate audience, and cite a repeated pattern of similar commentary by Prisywan which had previously led to police complaints by Shatta Wale’s associates.
