Athletic Club forward Iñaki Williams has officially announced his retirement from international football, drawing the curtain on his time with the Ghana national team, the Black Stars.
The 30-year-old striker, who made his debut for Ghana in September 2022 after switching international allegiance from Spain, shared an emotional farewell message on his official Instagram page on Friday, expressing gratitude to the nation, his teammates, and the fans for their unwavering support throughout his international career.

Representing Ghana brought Williams closer to his ancestral heritage, allowing him to feature at major tournaments, including the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire. Though his stint with the national team was brief, his commitment on the pitch earned him deep respect among Ghanaian football supporters.
Williams now turns his full focus to club football with Athletic Club in La Liga, where he continues to be a key figure alongside his younger brother, Nico Williams. However, as he stated in his farewell, his heart remains firmly connected to Ghana, where he will now cheer on the team as a fan.
