Musician Choirmaster has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late wife, actress and entrepreneur Beverly Ama Afaglo-Baah, remembering her for her love, generosity, strong faith and unwavering support throughout their marriage.
Choirmaster delivered his final tribute during Beverly’s funeral rites at the frontage of the State House on Saturday, August 8, as family members, friends, colleagues and other mourners gathered to honour the late actress.
Reflecting on their life together, Choirmaster expressed gratitude for the support his wife gave him and for the family they built.
He thanked Beverly for her encouragement, prayers and acts of kindness, saying her presence strengthened his faith.
“Thank you for your encouragement of the beautiful family we built together. Thank you for every prayer, every act of kindness; you strengthened my faith,” he said.
Remembering the woman behind the fame
While Beverly was widely recognised for her work as an actress and entrepreneur, Choirmaster said he had the privilege of knowing her beyond her public image.
He described her as a woman with a beautiful heart who gave generously without seeking recognition for her contributions.
“Many knew you as a gifted actress and an endearing actress. But I knew of the beautiful heart behind every achievement. You loved deeply and gave generously. And you never once sought recognition,” he said.
Choirmaster also paid tribute to Beverly’s contribution to Ghana’s creative industry, noting that her acting and film-related work had made a positive impact on many people.
He specifically referenced Traffic Shawarma, highlighting the way her creative work connected with audiences and brought hope and kindness to many.
He recalls her faith during illness
Choirmaster also reflected on the period of Beverly’s illness, describing her as resilient and deeply committed to her faith despite the difficulties she faced.
According to him, Beverly not only remained hopeful during her own challenges but also provided him with emotional and spiritual support whenever he was afraid.
“Even in the midst of your battle, you never stopped trusting God. You comforted me when I was afraid. Your resilience, courage, and steadfast belief in God’s promises inspire me every day,” he said.
He added that witnessing her strength had changed him permanently.
“Witnessing your strength has changed me forever. Rest well, my queen. I love you,” Choirmaster said in his final words to his late wife.
Celebrities attend Beverly Afaglo’s funeral
The funeral attracted several prominent personalities from Ghana’s entertainment industry and public life, who joined the family to pay their final respects.
Among those present were actresses Yvonne Nelson, Jackie Appiah and Nana Ama McBrown, actors Van Vicker and Adjetey Annan, musician Rex Omar, former Musicians Union of Ghana president Obour, Eunice Banini, Selassie Ibrahim, Roselyn Ngissah and Captain Planet of 4×4.
Businessman Ibrahim Mahama and John Dumelo, the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, were also among those who attended.
Beverly Ama Afaglo-Baah died on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the age of 42.
Her death triggered widespread mourning across Ghana, particularly within the entertainment industry, where colleagues and admirers remembered her for her contributions to acting and entrepreneurship.
Her funeral brought together family, friends, industry colleagues and public figures to celebrate her life and legacy, while Choirmaster’s tribute offered a deeply personal reflection on the woman he knew as a wife, mother and companion.
