Arsenal came into this game full of confidence and it took them just 15 minutes to break the deadlock through German international Kai Havertz.
New signing Christos Tzolis exchanged passes with Riccardo Calafiori before the Italian teed up Havertz, who sent the ball home.
Bukayo Saka doubled Arsenal’s lead eight minutes later when goalkeeper Carl Rushworth parried the ball into the Englishman’s path. Saka guided the ball into the open net.
The visitors did well to keep Mikel Arteta’s men at bay for some time, but their resolve was broken again four minutes after halftime courtesy of skipper Martin Odegaard.
Arsenal looked threatening and kept pressuring the Sky Blues, but three goals were enough to send Coventry back home with their tails between their legs.
The North Londoners have now won six Premier League games in a row and have not tasted defeat since the 2-1 loss against Manchester City in April.
Next up for Arsenal is a trip to Birmingham to face Aston Villa, while Coventry will play Plymouth in the League Cup before a first Premier League home game against fellow newcomers Hull City.
