Third Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea, has dismissed claims that he negotiated with the party’s First Vice Chairman, Kojo Fosu Boadu, popularly known as Kojo Bamba, over the outcome of the party’s recent national executive elections.
Nana Akomea said he was not at the venue when the votes were counted and tabulated, making it impossible for him to have participated in any discussions or negotiations concerning the election results.
His comments follow his absence from the introduction of the newly elected national executives at the NPP’s national delegates conference in Kumasi. His absence, alongside that of Second Vice Chairman Henry Nana Boakye, had sparked speculation about the circumstances surrounding the election and the subsequent introduction of the new executives.
There were claims that the two officials had stayed away because of an alleged arrangement involving Kojo Bamba, under which Nana Akomea was purportedly expected to become First Vice Chairman.
However, Nana Akomea has rejected the claims, describing them as inaccurate.
In a Facebook post on Monday, October 5, 2026, he explained that he had left the conference grounds at about 11:30 p.m. and was caught in traffic while returning to the venue.
According to him, he arrived only a few minutes after the newly elected executives had been introduced.
He therefore stressed that he could not have negotiated with Kojo Bamba or anyone else over the election results because he was not present during the counting and tabulation process.
Nana Akomea’s clarification seeks to put to rest speculation surrounding his absence and the circumstances that followed the NPP’s national executive elections.
The development comes at a time when attention remains focused on the party’s newly elected leadership and its efforts to organize its affairs following the national delegates conference.
