Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has encouraged businesses to invest confidently, assuring investors that the government remains committed to maintaining the progress achieved in stabilising the economy.

Addressing the leadership of the Association of Ghana Industries and other business leaders, Dr Forson said the government will unveil its new economic transformation blueprint as part of the 2027 Budget.

“Feel free to invest because we will sustain the gains. The golden era for Ghana is beginning, and our new blueprint will be announced in the 2027 Budget,” he said.

The Finance Minister assured that the significant gains recorded in Ghana’s macroeconomic environment would be preserved and further consolidated.

“That is why the 2027 Budget will move Ghana from stability to transformation,” he stated.

Dr Forson noted that President John Dramani Mahama has announced plans to channel US$10 billion into strategic sectors over the next four years.

“We want to produce more, add value and create more jobs for the Ghanaian economy. This means addressing the fundamental challenges we face as a country,” he said.

He said the government had taken deliberate steps to lower the cost of capital and would continue pursuing further reductions to make it easier for businesses to expand and attract investment.

Dr Forson also urged businesses to contribute to efforts to mobilise more domestic revenue, saying this would help reduce the government’s dependence on heavy borrowing.

“We need your support to raise the necessary revenue so that the Government does not borrow beyond its means, as we saw in 2022,” he said.

Dr Forson said the government’s focus would be to build on the current economic stability by promoting investment, expanding productive sectors and creating jobs. He also stressed the importance of stronger domestic revenue mobilisation in supporting the government’s transformation agenda while limiting excessive borrowing.
