On Tuesday, October 6, frustrated residents of Community 25 marched to the Ghana Water Limited (GWL) office in Gbetsile to demand immediate answers and action regarding an ongoing water shortage in their neighborhood.

According to community members, many households have suffered from completely dry taps for over two months. The prolonged lack of a clean, regular water supply has severely disrupted daily life, leaving families, students, workers, and local businesses struggling to carry out basic daily tasks.
To cope with the shortage, residents have been forced to turn to alternative water sources—such as private water tankers—which are often expensive and place a heavy financial burden on families.

Speaking on behalf of the community during an interview with Citi News, Prosper Segbey, a member of the Community 25 Residents Association, highlighted the widespread disruption the crisis has caused across schools, workplaces, and local businesses. He appealed directly to the government and relevant state agencies to step in and fix the situation as soon as possible.
At the same time, the Chairman of the Community 25 Residents Association, Van-Gogh Bagnaba, called on community members to stay calm and avoid escalating tensions. He reassured residents that leadership is actively engaging with Ghana Water Company Limited to find a solution and restore a reliable flow of water to the area.
