Spain made tidy work of tournament favorites France in the semifinals to book a date with the Albiceleste in the final.
Manchester City midfielder Rodri believes Spain must put up a masterclass performance against Argentina, despite letting in only one goal in the whole tournament.
“I don’t think you’ve seen the same Spain across all the matches,” Rodri said to the press on Friday.
“I think Sunday’s match will be quite different, as it will be a more physical one and we must be prepared. And I believe if we are known for something in this national team, it is that we know how to play different games based on the moment.
“So, we can adapt to having to defend, counter-attacking, to attacking. We are a very complete team, and that is why we are here.”
“We’ve been gradually growing,” the 30-year-old added.
“We have to keep doing the same things we’re doing because it has been a process for the last five years.”
“Our goal when we got to this World Cup was to win the trophy, and we were convinced that we could achieve this,” he continued.
“We’ve shown that this national team has been able to defeat great opponents.”
Rodri has been an ever-present force for Spain throughout this tournament. His performances against Portugal and France have led people to hail him as one of the best players in the 2026 World Cup.
