Three suspected armed robbers were shot dead by police in a fierce gun battle at the Tema Industrial Area on Monday, July 21, 2025, after they allegedly attempted to rob a warehouse.

A press release issued by the Tema Regional Police Command stated that officers responded swiftly to a distress call about a group of about ten armed men breaking into the warehouse. Upon arrival, the police patrol team was met with gunfire from the suspects, resulting in a shootout.
Three of the suspected robbers were hit and later pronounced dead. The remaining suspects, some believed to have suffered gunshot wounds, managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
Weapons Recovered as Police Hunt Escaped Robbers
During a search of the scene, police recovered a Bruni Mod foreign pistol, a locally manufactured double-barrel pistol loaded with two rounds of ammunition, and 11 live BB cartridges.

The bodies of the deceased suspects have since been deposited at the Police Hospital Morgue in Accra for preservation, autopsy, and possible identification. Meanwhile, police investigations are ongoing to arrest the fleeing accomplices and determine if the suspects are linked to other criminal activities in the area.
ASP Dede Dzakpasu, Head of Public Affairs at the Tema Regional Police Command, commended the Kpone District Command for their swift and courageous response to the robbery call.
The Tema Regional Police Command has assured the public of its commitment to fighting crime and maintaining law and order. Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station.
