Garden City University graduates new cohort of postgraduate students

Garden City University (GCU) has graduated a new cohort of postgraduate students at its 18th Congregation Graduate Session, with university leaders urging the graduates to embrace innovation, ethical leadership and lifelong learning as they transition into the next stage of their professional careers.

The graduation ceremony, held at the University’s Kenyase campus in Kumasi, brought together members of the Governing Council, faculty, students, alumni, traditional authorities, clergy, families and guests to celebrate the academic accomplishments of the graduating class. The event formed part of the University’s 18th Congregation programme.

The ceremony featured the conferment of postgraduate degrees, a valedictory address by Haggar Boahemaa, a vote of thanks and the formal dissolution of the congregation.

Addressing the graduates, Vice-Chancellor Professor Eric Kwasi Ofori encouraged them to become professionals who are guided by integrity, innovation and a strong sense of service to society.

He urged the graduates to continue acquiring knowledge beyond the classroom and apply the skills gained at Garden City University to develop practical solutions to challenges confronting Ghana and the global community.

Professor Ofori stressed that ethical leadership and continuous learning would be essential for graduates seeking to make meaningful contributions in their respective fields.

The University said the graduation reflects its commitment to producing highly skilled professionals capable of driving innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable national development. Its educational philosophy centres on excellence in teaching, learning, research and community engagement, while equipping students with the competencies needed to become agents of social transformation.

Garden City University also reaffirmed its commitment to promoting academic excellence, effective corporate governance, social inclusion and community service, describing these as core values that continue to shape its institutional growth and educational mission.

With another cohort of postgraduate graduates entering the workforce, the University expressed confidence that they will contribute positively to national development by applying the knowledge, leadership skills and professional values acquired during their studies.
