President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed three new ambassadors. These latest appointments come two months after the Executive Secretary to the Presidency, Nana Bediatuo Asante, was appointed Ambassador-at-Large.
The three new ambassadors are the Deputy Chief of Staff, Fawaz Aliu, Major General Charles Kojo Abedi Asumanin Awiti, and Peprah Ampratwum. The appointments were announced during a ceremony at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, August 7.
Alhaji Fawaz Aliu, who started his career as a foreign service officer in the Office of the President in 2017, now joins Nana Asante Bediatuo as an ambassador at large. He will take on this additional role while still serving as Deputy Chief of Staff at the Jubilee House.

Major General Charles Kojo Abedi Awity has been appointed Ghana’s Ambassador to Serbia. Major General Charles is known to have had a distinguished military career, holding various key positions and contributing immensely to Ghana’s military strength and professionalism.
Mr. Peprah Ampratwum will serve as ambassador in situ. An ambassador in situ is a diplomatic official of the highest rank sent by one country, in this case, Ghana, as its long-term representative to another. This role involves being actively involved in key decision-making processes.
President Akufo-Addo said he was confident the three would excel in this new role and asked them to deepen the ties between Ghana and other countries and connect Ghana to investment opportunities.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Major General Abedi expressed their dedication to serving Ghana excellently.
