The Women’s Trade Empowerment Fund will enhance women based businesses- Bawumia

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, has unveiled plans to establish a Women’s Trade Empowerment Fund aimed at supporting women in enhancing their businesses.

During a campaign rally at the Obuasi East Constituency, Dr. Bawumia noted the significance of this initiative, which will enable women to access the fund using only their Ghana cards.

This streamlined process is expected to have a transformative impact on the livelihoods of local women traders.

“We are introducing the Women’s Trade Empowerment Fund to provide crucial support to women-led businesses. Unlike traditional banks that require extensive documentation, this fund will be accessible with just your Ghana card,” he explained.

In addition to the Women’s Trade Empowerment Fund, Dr. Bawumia highlighted other initiatives such as the Buy Ghana First campaign, which aims to enhance local businesses by prioritizing the purchase of domestically produced goods by government agencies.

These efforts are designed to stimulate the domestic economy and create job opportunities.

Dr. Bawumia also asserted that despite facing challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war, the NPP government has surpassed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in various sectors.

“Despite the global crises, including COVID-19, our government has consistently outperformed the NDC in every sector of the economy,” he emphasized.
