The Ghana Cooperative Fashion Designers Association, Dechemso Society, marked a significant milestone on Sunday, November 24, with its inaugural annual graduation ceremony. The event, held on the premises of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Dechemso Kumasi, celebrated the achievements of 12 students who completed their training in fashion design.

The primary objective of the program is to equip individuals in the fashion industry with the necessary skills, experience, and creativity to produce high-quality garments. By doing so, the association aims to empower its members to become self-reliant and competitive in the fashion market.
The graduation ceremony was a momentous occasion, bringing together students, instructors, and industry professionals to celebrate the achievements of the graduating class. The event highlighted the importance of investing in the development of local fashion designers and the potential for the industry to contribute to the country’s economic growth.

In an interview, Madam Patience Darkwa, Treasurer of the Ghana Cooperative Fashion Designers Association, expressed her confidence in the 12 graduating students who recently completed their training in fashion design.
“These students are more than prepared to enter the job market,” Madam Darkwa stated. “We believe they will excel in their careers, thanks to the comprehensive training they received.”

Madam Darkwa also seized the opportunity to encourage young people to consider a career in fashion. “The fashion industry offers a wealth of opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship,” she emphasized. “By joining this industry, young people can create their jobs and reduce the burden on the government.”

In a call to action, Madam Darkwa invited individuals from all walks of life to join the fashion industry. “Fashion is a lucrative business that is open to everyone, regardless of their educational background or IQ,” she explained. “We welcome anyone passionate about fashion to join our association and take advantage of the numerous opportunities available.”
