Obuasi: GH₵20,000 Reward for Information Suspects Threatening Violence

The Ghana Police Service has announced a GH₵20,000 reward for information leading to arresting individuals from Obuasi involved in a viral video threatening violence ahead of the December 7 general elections.

The suspects, identified as Fuseini Yahuza, Bernard Ahedor, Simon, Basit, and Musa Yakubu (also known as Agya Musah), are currently on the run. The video, which first surfaced on TikTok, shows the group making violent threats, including plans to declare their election results.

The police declared the individuals wanted on November 15, 2024, and have since intensified efforts to locate them. Concerns about election safety have heightened following the threats, prompting swift action from law enforcement.

In a public statement, the police urged citizens to assist the investigation and share credible information about the suspects’ whereabouts. A dedicated hotline, 0547927272, has been set up for this purpose.

The GH₵20,000 reward aims to encourage public cooperation in tracking the suspects.

Parts of the statement read, “We urge the general public to remain calm since the Police are committed to ensuring that we live in peaceful, secure and orderly communities.”

The police also reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order during the electoral process.
