Black Stars Coach, Otto Addo has apologized to Ghanaians for the teams failure to qualify for AFCON 2025 and other challenges recently, including the 2 -1 defeat to Niger in their final Group F match.
Speaking at the post match presser with the media, he acknowledged the decline in performance of the Black Stars team members over the past months.
“I am so sorry that we did not qualify; I am sorry because I know how it feels and how Ghanaians are hurt – I am sorry”, he said.
However, Otto Addo has responded to calls for his resignation as Black Stars Coach, asserting that he would not step down from his positions despite the team’s consistent defeats.
He added that he would not be swayed by the criticism and demands for his departure, pledging his commitment to leading the national team forward.
“I’m not the person who can resign. If I had done this, I’d never have become a player or even a coach. If you know where I have come from as a person to arrive at this job, you won’t even ask about my resignation. People shouting and telling me to resign can’t affect me,” Addo noted.
He also encouraged the media and fans to support them instead of blaming them.
