Due to the absence of the minority caucus, the presentation of the 2024 mid-year budget review to Parliament scheduled for today, Tuesday, July 23, 2024 was delayed.

The absence of the minority, according to Channel One News’ Parliamentary correspondent, Nii Ayikwei Okine, is in protest of the delay in the release of their common fund.

The presentation of the 2024 mid-year budget by Finance Minister, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam aims to update the House on the implementation of the government’s 2024 budget and also present revised financial plans and an up-to-date outlook on the economic situation in Ghana.

In a statement released by the ministry on Monday, July 22, they said the budget review would provide an update on the implementation of the 2024 budget. They also said it would present insights into the economic and fiscal performance for the first half of the year.
