Eugene Amo-Asamoah, a young advocate for environmental sustainability and the Business Development and Communications Manager at the Kumasi Compost and Recycling Plant (KCARP), has called for sustainable solutions to protect the environment following his win at the esteemed Millennium Excellence Awards held in early May at the Manhyia Palace.
He received the Youth in Environment Award, an honour that will be remembered forever due to its significance.
The Millennium Excellence Foundation is a prestigious organization that recognizes outstanding individuals in various fields to inspire others.
The Life Patron of the foundation, His Royal Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, and his distinguished Executive Board honored Eugene for his leadership and commitment to environmental and climate sustainability.
Eugene was overjoyed upon receiving this recognition.
While expressing gratitude to all those who supported him, including Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, the Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies, he expressed the need for individual responsibility in protecting the environment.
“We all need to be responsible for our environment, and I invite everyone to join me in the effort to make our environment a better place for all,” he stated.
He also called for a collaborative and concerted effort from the government and all stakeholders to promote a healthier environment.
Eugene’s career is distinguished by his massive contributions to waste management and recycling, as he drives business growth and innovation in the industry.
He has implemented sustainable waste management projects in several communities both within the country and beyond.
His leadership includes developing and executing comprehensive waste management plans for various institutions and organizations, as well as providing technical assistance to government agencies and private sector firms.

He supports initiatives that enable communities to be both clean and economically empowered.
