John Dramani Mahama, the NDC flagbearer, has emphatically stated that he will only accept the December 7 General Election results if they are transparent and credible.
In an interview with British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), he voiced concerns about the electoral process’ fairness and stressed that he would reject any outcome marred by violence or irregularities.
Mahama emphasized the need for a free and fair election, underscoring the importance of the process’s integrity for Ghana’s democracy.
“If on the election day, there is widespread ballot snatching, beating of people and the military moving in and intimidating people and thugs are all over the place, rampaging the place, you want me to accept that result? It will depend on the transparency and the fairness of the process,” he stated.
The 2024 election have sparked conversations around the integrity of the EC, with concerned stakeholders, calling for a free and fair elections.
