The National Investigative Bureau(NIB) has released Kwaku Ohene Djan, former deputy director for the National Service Authority(NSA) after days of detainment at the bureau for investigations into his alleged involvement in the NSA ghost names scandal.
The motive was his detention for days was to probe further into his role in the alleged financial misconduct at the NSA and to uncover irregularities that have raised public concern in recent months.
The NSA scandal, which has been the subject of a lengthy investigation, includes accusations of fraud, financial misconduct, and systemic weaknesses that have resulted in significant losses for the state.
The investigation has implicated several prominent figures, including both current and former officials of the Authority.
After his release on Monday, February 24, the NIB announced that Mr. Djan remains a person of interest in the case and could be summoned for further questioning if necessary.
His legal team has affirmed that he is fully committed to cooperating with investigators to ensure that due process is upheld.
