John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate, has reiterated his commitment to a rigorous anti-corruption agenda if elected in 2024.
Speaking at the Governance Forum in Accra on Thursday, October 31, Mahama outlined plans to investigate and prosecute corrupt officials using both local and international expertise to bolster transparency and accountability.
Central to his approach is “Operation Recover All the Loot,” an initiative aimed at making corruption a high-risk activity for all public officials.
Mahama’s agenda includes enacting legislation that would prevent political appointees and politically exposed persons from purchasing state assets.
He also proposed the creation of a state asset registrar to efficiently handle corruption-related matters.
“I am reaffirming my commitment to root out corruption,” Mahama stated. “Our tools, including Operation Recover All the Loot, will investigate and prosecute those involved in corruption, drawing on local and international expertise.”
The former president emphasized his determination to counteract state capture and ensure public accountability through these proposed reforms.
