The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a planned maintenance Works scheduled for Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., which will affect power supply to multiple communities in the Ashanti Region.
According to ECG, the exercise is part of ongoing efforts to improve service delivery and ensure stable electricity supply across the region. The affected areas include: Barekese Headworks, Kronum Cement, Heman,
Amoaman, Nketia, Asuofua, CONSAR Quarry, Adankwame, Adugama, Naachia Quarry, Barekese Town, Abira, Offinso, Namong, Kayera, Tutuase, Nsuotam, Kyerekrom, Boamang, Tetrem, Habitat, Ahenkro, Kwamang, Kodie, Akrofrom, Aduman, Aduamoah, Denase, Pampatia, KCG Company and surrounding communities.
Some Plants to Shut Down Temporarily due to Planned Maintenance works
As a direct result of the scheduled outage, the Barekese Water Treatment Plant (WTP) will be temporarily shut down during the same period. The Ghana Water Limited (GWL), Ashanti Region, confirmed that operations at the facility will resume as soon as power is restored.
In a notice to staff and stakeholders, GWL expressed regret over the inconvenience this may cause and called for public understanding. “We appreciate your cooperation and patience as ECG undertakes this critical maintenance works,” the statement read.
Residents and institutions in the affected areas are advised to make the necessary arrangements to minimize the impact of the disruption.
