Bishop Salifu re-arrested after Attorney General withdrew initial charges

Salifu Amoako re-arrested

Bishop Salifu Amoako, his wife Mouha Amoako and one other individual have been discharged by the East Legon Circuit Court after the state withdrew cases against them, on Monday February 17,2025.

The Judge therefore struck out all charges against them.

However, they were re-arrested under new legal cases shortly after leaving the courtroom. The intention of this move is to allow more investigations to ensure a more appropriate course of action.

Bishop Salifu Amoako, Mouha Amoako and Linda Bonsu Bempah were arrested following a fatal accident at East Legon, involving their 16-year-old who drove a white Jaguar F-Pace Sport without a license and an Acura vehicle on October 12, 2024. The accident led to the Acura vehicle catching fire and killing two girls instantly.

The 16-year-old boy was sentenced to 6 months at the Senior Correctional Center after pleading guilty to manslaughter. The court also asked him to report to probation officers every two weeks and signed an undertaking to refrain from driving till he turns 18.
