A/R: First-ever multi-adventure park launched at Truba to enhance tourism

An adventure park has been established in Greater Kumasi to boost tourism and generate excitement among residents.

Located in Kenyasi Truba, in the Kwabre East Municipality, this initiative is being hailed as a game changer.

It aims to bring joy, reduce boredom, and minimize drug use and criminal activities in the area.

Dubbed “The Enclave” and spearheaded by BraveHearts Expeditions Limited, the park seeks to create a vibrant environment for enjoyment and unforgettable memories, particularly during weekends and holidays.

The adventure park offers various activities, including abseiling, kayaking, paintballing, zip-lining, overnight camping, photography, and a canopy walkway.

Although some of these activities are still in the planning stages, the company assures that they will be operational soon, providing tourists with an extraordinary experience.

In an interview with Orange News, Jay Jay Kwaku Ansa Addo-Koranteng, Chief Executive Officer of BraveHearts Expeditions Limited, stated that the park aims to introduce adventure to Kumasi for the first time.

The company will initially offer three activities—kayaking, paintballing, and abseiling—to foster a culture of adventure and provide alternatives to issues such as alcoholism, pornography, and fraud.

Mr. Koranteng noted that safety is a top priority.

To ensure visitor safety, no alcohol will be permitted on site, and all tourists will undergo training for their chosen activities, guided by a well-trained team to prevent any accidents.

However, the current condition of the road leading to the park is poor, which may affect visitor numbers.

The company is committed to significantly transforming the area, which could incentivize the government to repair the road, as increased tourist activity will generate revenue for the state.

The government and district assemblies also have a role to play. However, in resource-scarce situations, they mostly conduct a cost-benefit analysis.

Mr. Koranteng noted, “If government is going to fix the Truba road, it needs a valid reason to do so. As visitor numbers increase and the community begins to prosper, it will become clear to the government that the road needs improvement.”

He pointed out that tourism in Ghana has not received adequate attention over the years, especially given the current state of many tourist sites across the country.

The launch of The Enclave at Truba has brought significant excitement and relief to the local residents.

Abena Boatemaa, the assembly member for the Kenyasi West Electoral Area, praised BraveHearts for their initiative, stating that it represents a significant relief for the community.

She indicated that in the past, numerous bodies had been retrieved from the water, as drug addicts and other community members had drowned due to its depth.

“We were retrieving bodies from this water almost every month, but with this project, we have found relief. It will also bring development to our community,” she explained.

Boatemaa also mentioned that she will communicate the issue of the deplorable road to the Municipal Chief Executive for resolution.
