A/R: Drivers rally support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and NPP

Drivers in Ashanti Region support Dr. Bawumia, citing road sector achievements. The Drivers for NPP Association has 6,000+ members nationwide.

A group of drivers in the Ashanti Region has thrown their support behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s flagbearer, citing the government’s achievements in the road sector as a key motivator.

The Drivers for NPP Association, led by Maxwell Owusu Akoto, has been actively engaging drivers across the country since February to garner support for the Vice President and the NPP party.

The association, which now boasts over 6,000 members nationwide, has visited various lorry stations including Abrepo Junction Trotro Station and Meduma Station to rally support.

Mr. Akoto stated that the government’s decision to extend drivers’ licenses from 2 years to 10 years, as well as the implementation of the free SHS policy will continue to ease their financial burdens.

Charles Ofori, Chairman of the Meduma Drivers Association, commended the government for its efforts in addressing road challenges within the Kwabre East Municipality.

He urged drivers to spread the government’s achievements to passengers and commuters to secure votes for the NPP.

Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, Coordinator for the Friendly Driver campaign, expressed the need to widen the party’s campaign reach across the country.

He explained that the initiative was prompted by Dr. Bawumia’s appeal for Ghanaians to elevate him from a driver’s mate to a driver.

Therefore, the campaign aims to endorse the Vice President’s visionary plans and innovative solutions for Ghana among drivers nationwide.

Mr. Agyemang also noted that drivers in Ghana have warmly embraced this decision, showing a positive reception to their messages without any signs of hostility.

He encouraged drivers to join the association and support the NPP’s bid to implement policies for national development.
